Description et état du monument : Лицевая сторона тщательно обтесана, на ней находится врезанное изображение латинского креста с апицированными концами горизонтальных рукавов и растраивающимися концами — вертикальных. Сохранилась целиком.
The front is well worked and bears carved image of Latin cross with serifs on the left and right arms and tri-forked top and bottom arms. Fully preserved.

Камень был куплен у И. Пекерева для музея Мелек-Чесменского кургана. По мнению Марти, крест был высечен раньше надписи, однако неясно, на чем
такое предположение основано. Д. Фейссель, составитель заметки в Bull. ép., не найдя у Яйленко ссылки на первоиздание, ошибочно посчитал надпись
новонайденной.

2–3. Имя Филоксен встречается на Боспоре трижды, начиная со II в. по Р.Х. (см. КБН 905). Известно оно и в христианской эпиграфике (например, Feissel 1983, № 160; IG XIV 2418).
4–5. Имя Агапит на Боспоре не известно, зато встречается в византийских надписях (MAMA I 279; VI 339; IGLS 1908; ICUR 25972; SEG 8.741). Существуют и два святых с таким именем (см. Delehaye 1902, 1043).
5–7. Обозначение профессии встречается в христианских надписях, особенно часто в Коринфе (см. Bees 1941, pass.). Профессия γουνάριος засвидетельствована в Beševliev 1964, № 99, 100, 102–104 (VI в.), Feissel 1983, № 34 (V–VI вв.).

The monument was bought from I. Pekerev for the Melek-Chesmen Tumulus Museum. Marti believed that the cross had been carved before
the inscription, but it is unclear what his opinion is based on. D. Feissel, the author of the lemma in Bull. ép., could not find
a reference to editio princeps in Yaylenko and so wrongly considered the inscription to be a new find.
